On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Greater Forest City Business Alliance hosted the Fourth Annual Forest City Teague Trot at the Forest City D & H Trailhead. Despite rainy weather during the week leading up to the event, nearly 70 participants took the trail for the 5K or 1-Mile Walk and came out in support of Forest City. The day was lovely and the trail was in perfect condition! 2022 was the first year for the race and was dedicated to honor the memory of Donny Teague, a long-time resident of the area and “running icon”. He was also known for his dedication to the Forest City Cross Country Team as a statistician and advocate, for more than 20 years. In 2023, the race was perpetually named the “Forest City Teague Trail Trot”.

This year, the GFCBA raised nearly $5000 from the race. Funds have been earmarked to purchase and complete preparation work for Christmas lights to decorate the light poles along Forest City’s Main Street during the holidays, promote the seasonal videos showcasing the Greater Forest City Area which were created with the assistance of a Room Tax Grant from the Endless Mountains Visitor’s Bureau in 2022 and completed in 2024, and to support enhancing the activities throughout our upcoming Trail Town weekend in August.

Congratulations to our top male and female finishers! Christopher LaSavage of Carbonale led the way to the finish line with a time of 18:55:58 and average pace of 6:06. Shortly after, Angelan Coco of York, PA, finished as the top overall female with a time of 19:03.86 and an average pace of 6:09. A full summary of results can be found on the race page for Forest City Teague Trail Trot at RunSignUp.com.
