Come visit Forest City!
Our town is truly a Mile of Hospitality! Without leaving Main Street visitors are offered fine restaurants, flower shops, banks, beauty salons, insurance agencies, doctor's offices as well as a post office, pharmacy, grocery store, wine & spirits shop, beer distributor, autoparts store, car dealerships, a gas station, a lumber yard and much more!
Locals and visitors alike are active in a wide offering of wellness and recreational activities. Located along Main Street are both a gym and yoga studio while just a few blocks north along Rt. 247, Kennedy Park offers athletic field space, including a disc golf course, a lake for fishing and swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The town offers easy access to the NEPA Rail-Trail system for biking, running and walking while Forest City Regional High School serves as the starting line of the Steamtown Marathon, one of the fastest marathons in the country!
Located at the top of the major Anthracite coal vein, Forest City, "so named being settled in heavy forests" boasts one of the best locations for enjoying and exploring the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. A ten minute drive to Elk Mountain Ski Resort, and access to some of the country's best trout fishing and hunting, Forest City truly does have it all!
