The Greater Forest City Business Alliance (GFCBA) assists in building, growing, strengthening, & promoting local small businesses & organizations through establishing effective marketing & communication strategies to community members & visitors alike.
Forest City is a borough in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, situated at the corners of Susquehanna, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties. During the process of developing the GFCBA Strategic Plan, the town celebrated its 150th year. Over time, the town has seen thriving lumber, coal, and textiles industries and a population high of 6,000 to present day, where it is made up of small businesses and has a population of approximately 1900.
A simple stroll down Main Street, Forest City in late September 2012 sparked a movement in the business community to take the bull by the horns to create a unified, working, strong town to increase consumers and businesses alike. This organization was built from the ground up to include officers, a board of directors, and a growing membership of 80+ local businesses, including businesses not just within the town, but in the Greater Forest City area. Strong connections have been made with other non-profit organizations, state officials, and local community leaders in an effort to create an area where people want to live, work, play, and shop.
